Top That! Waffle Day

By Connect Mason Assistant Convergence Director Grace Kendall

There are few Mondays that wouldn’t benefit from free waffles. Mason students are in luck because the Student Centers are sponsoring the second annual Top That! Waffle Day on Monday, March 3 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Dewberry Hall.

When students arrive, they will be able to feast on free waffles with a variety of toppings including fruit, traditional syrup, and hot fudge – an addition that came from one of last year’s suggestions.

Each table will have buttons and talking pieces, including waffle recipes and the history of waffles. There will also be giveaways and waffle-inspired songs all about the glory of the square patterned breakfast cakes.

BLOGGER: Digsby Exclusive and New Syndication

By Mason Blogger, Jimmy Rogers of Mason Tech Beat

This week I've got a exclusive special surprise for everyone, courtesy of Digsby!

What is Digsby?

Well in the world of instant messaging, protocols like AIM, MSN, Yahoo, and ICQ are the kings. The thing that many people do not realize is that they are only protocols and can operate separately from the clients that their owners make for them. For a long time, the only two serious options were Pidgin (formerly Gaim) and Trillian. These clients allow for multiple accounts on multiple protocols to merge all your friends, no matter who they use.

REVIEW: 'The Other Boleyn Girl'

By Connect Mason Reviewer Emily Culley

I try to approach historical movies with a grain of salt. Most of the time Hollywood fictionalizes portions of the actual history to better sell the movie. Additionally, I try to approach books turned into movies with a grain of salt, for the same reason.

Then should The Other Boleyn Girl be approached with two grains of salt?

Because each member of the band writes music independently, and because each member also contributes to the collective song-writing process, Square Trio frequently invokes a variety of alluring and inspired musical styles, some of which include:

Last Weekend’s Predictions

Well, I nailed Vantage Point, snatching the number one spot while Jumper dropped a considerably disappointing 61 percent from $32 million to $12.7 million after being critically berated and receiving a Yahoo! User rating of a lowly “B-.”

Thoughts on the Bashville B-boy Event

Reader Contribution: By Mason Student Karim Ramzy

I attended the Bashville Stampede in Nashville, Tenn. last Saturday. It was a b-boying, breakdancing, event hosted by Q-Kong.

The event occurred in Rocketown, which is an interesting place because it seems to cater to the alternative crowd of Nashville. This was what made the event different; outside there were skateboarders and a wall covered in graffiti pieces, on the top floor there were video game competitions, a live rock show, and a cafe and lounge area, and in the main bottom area is where the b-boy event took place, was just a door away from a hard rock show with a mosh pit.
